Doc Marten's not what they used to be. : Dr. Martens Men's Varden Boot,Dark Brown,7 UK (8 M US Men's)
I purchased these boots thinking that they would be the same quality of the Doc Marten's I had purchased about 20 years ago, but that wasn't the case. I believe these are made in China. Although the sole of the boot are of comparable material to my old pairs of Doc Marten's, the leather on these is really thin and not the thick and sturdy stuff of boots past. The boots are scuffed straight to the hide pretty quickly. I just can't see these lasting. They look great, but just aren't the durable product I would expect from Dr Martens. Pretty disappointing over all.
No problems with comfort, just not durable enough for my liking. I have a pair of Dr. Martens brown oxfords that are about 20 years old, and I think I will be wearing them for another 20. The old pairs were great durable shoes as long as you kept them polished and oiled. This one is not that great. Very disappointing given the cost is still at the high value cost point. I wouldn't have paid $50 for them if I would have found them in a store.
